MY STORY
My business story began in 1993, when my mom and I spent the afternoon shopping together. We came upon a florist that was going out of business. As we entered this lovely space, I was immediately drawn to a wall of wicker baskets. I expressed to my mom, “I am going to start a gift basket company”! Spending my very last $200 unemployment check, I purchased several wicker baskets and loaded up my car!
After much “Dialing for Dollars” in exchange for orders for gift baskets from friends, I was soon designing gift baskets at my kitchen table. Shhh! I even used a bathtub in the guest room as a storage unit for all things creative! Shortly, my business, EXCLAMATIONS!, was born. Even my first gift baskets redefined the traditional gift basket, incorporating plants, top quality components, and fabulous containers. My very own unique signature style was created and defines me to this day. I have surely come a long way from the beginning of those early start up days!
Professionally, I have been BLESSED to be recognized as a leader in the Gift Basket industry and have spoken at several Gift Basket Conventions, the LA Mart and much more!
It was EXCITING when Nordstrom hired and featured me as a guest designer and creative in their Gift Gallery!
